MOL Group searching for young Hungarian talents

MOL Group has a leading role not only in the research and production of alternative motor fuels and energy sources, but it also applies new, innovative solutions in searching and finding young Hungarian talents. This was the intention when in May 2006 the Group invited strategic essays through the corporate internet website titled "Imagine becoming a CEO". The prize giving ceremony was organised on August 9, 2006 and Mr György Mosonyi, MOL GCEO handed over the awards.

The leading oil company has introduced a new recruitment technology in addition to traditional HR methods in order to look for and find talented young experts for the future. In close cooperation with the universities, MOL May published this May an invitation in English language on its website, titled „Imagine becoming a CEO”. The undergraduate participants had to prepare general concepts on the basis of MOL’s strategy for 2006-2010, and to develop proposals for the further development of various divisions or businesses.

The evaluation of the entries and presentations included not only the traditional and professional criteria. There were managers appointed into the jury and they also evaluated logical capabilities, mentality and mindset when took the final decision, also mapping the applicability of the young talents for various corporate positions.

The winner of the competition received a prize of 3.000 Euro, and the runner up contestants 500-500 Euro each. Members of the winning teams will be invited for specific employment interviews. Those who are still undergraduates can expect a study contract as trainees for the period left in their university curricula.

The jury did not award any third prize, as there was a tie in the second place with three (3) teams.

The participants included students from Corvinus University of Budapest, Budapest University of Technology and Economics,  Pázmány Péter Catholic University, University of Pannonia, Veszprém, Eötvös Loránd University of Science, Budapest,  Central European University, Budapest (CEU) who have proved their outstanding talents and delivered high professional performance, and we have to underline, that the competition was held at the same time as the ordinary examination period.

MOL would expand this competition in the entire region next year for all major universities and MBA institutions, and in addition to Hungary, also in Slovakia, Romania, Croatia and Russia.
