MOL Plc. hereby announces that on August 2007, after a 9-month negotiation period, it signed an agreement to purchase 100% of Tifon, a fuel retail and wholesale company in Croatia.
Tifon, a respected fuel retailer, currently owns and operates 36 well positioned fuel stations all over in Croatia. In addition, the company has more than 20 premium station development projects under implementation, expected to be finished within the next two years. The average throughput per station exceeds 4.2 mlpa and the retail market share of Tifon is expected to reach 7% by the end of 2007. The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, contributes to the fulfilment of the retail growth targets of MOL.
MOL has 25% shareholding in INA, the leading oil and gas company in Croatia. This acquisition, acknowledged also by MOL´s strategic partners, INA and the Croatian government, confirms MOL´s commitment to drive the region’s consolidation and creates value for MOL and its strategic partner INA.
