Documentary film with MOL sponsorship

The documentary film titled „Captain Ocskay László, a hero forgotten” was released at the end of January. The film is dedicated to the memory of the captain of the Hungarian Army.

Mr. Ocskay László, who is often referred to as the Hungarian Schindler, saved the live of nearly 2500 men, women and children, who were harassed Jews in Budapest, as a result of an extraordinarily humanitarian action during the darkest period in the Second World War. Between the two World Wars Mr. Ocskay was working in Vacuum Oil Company, known as one of MOL’s legal predecessors, and this subsidiary, presumably, supported his efforts both financially and morally.

Fonyó Gergely is the director of the documentary, and the film was invited to New York and Brussels, moreover it was an entry also in the 2008 Hungarian Film Festival. The film everywhere had a great success and was very well received.

MOL was proud to be a sponsor of the film, as it is dedicated to the memory of one of the company’s former employees, who could prove his „humanity” in the most anti-human era.
