MOL 2007 press campaign honoured

The Ringier Népszabadság Print Award (RNPA) jury has judged the “MOL’s success is the nation’s success” series of advertisements as being the best Press Campaign of the Year 2007. This award for excellence was given to the print advertisements, launched in summer 2007, from among 600 award applications. The advertisements featured selected MOL international subsidiary employees and demonstrated how diverse and multi-faceted the operations being carried out throughout the Budapest headquartered multinational company are.

The Mol 2007 campaign communications objective was to raise awareness among the wider domestic public of the importance and successes of the company, and of MOL’s significant presence in the international arena. The summer’s “educational” campaign therefore featured global MOL operations, emphasising that the MOL Group of companies not only consists of a national network of fuel stations but is very large concern carrying out exploration, production and marketing in more than 40 different countries. The Autumn campaign, aimed at “laying the foundations for commitment”, clearly demonstrated that international success and value creation are based on domestic knowledge and skills, while the December campaign focused on a combination of messages showing how domestic knowledge and international success could also be achieved in an emotional context. This intentional combination of messages and its creative implementation was highly valued by the jury when granting the Press Campaign of the Year Award to MOL.

The Ringier Publishing House - its magazine division, Euromédia Partnerships and Népszabadság Llc. - founded the award two years ago to recognise the quality of advertisements published in its newspapers and moreover to call to the attention of advertisers the partially unexploited publicity potential latent in the daily press and magazine market. The jury, made up of independent experts, analysed both the content and form of press advertisements nominated for the RNPA, as well as visual and verbal presentation, creativity, harmony of messages, placement and sizes selected, all judged in an integrated way.

“One of the key objectives of last year’s communication efforts was to demonstrate to the wider public the development path MOL has taken over the past few years. After the spontaneous encouraging feedback we have received so far, this significant recognition has confirmed our faith in carrying on what we have started” – said Mr. Szabolcs I Ferencz, MOL Director of Communications after receiving the award.

The RNPA also recognises and rewards MOL’s advertising agents – Young & Rubicam (creative agency) and Initiative Media (media broker).
