MOL Group was ranked as no. 1 in two categories on Euromoney regional list. The British financial periodical elected MOL as the best energy company in Central and Eastern Europe in 2009 pursuant to votes of 101 analysts, who had the view that MOL had the best corporate management in Hungary.
MOL made a step forward in Euromoney’s list, as last year we were the third and now first among the regional energy companies, for example ahead of Unipetrol (Czech) and other regional competitors. The London-based financial periodical published this ranking in May prepared on the basis of 101 expert analysts, who used specific criteria for the evaluation on the regional companies listed on stock exchange, inter alia like market power, profitability, growth potential, income and quality of corporate management.
Euromoney had the view that MOL had the best corporate management in Hungary. This is another step forward versus the last year position, when MOL was the second on the list. „Both recognitions made us very pleased as they prove that also experts engaged in the region and the sector acknowledged MOL’s results” – explained Hernádi Zsolt, MOL Chairman-CEO. „We have been demonstrating the highest efficiency and creativity on the regional energy market for a number a years, and we have also proved our ability to protect our independent strategy. I am particularly happy and proud of our no. 1 position regarding the quality of corporate management, because we have got to the peak after a successful defence against a hostile takeover attempt.”
