MOL is still the best European company in the field of gas and oil operation

John S. Herold Inc. and Harrison Lovegrove & Company had put together for the 43rd time the top list of oil companies’ performance in exploration-production (upstream). MOL got to the top of the European list in 2003 at the first time, since that time it leads the list for the fifth time.

The report is the result of the co-operation of John S.Herold, Inc (independent petroleum research company) and Harrison Lovegrove & Company (global oil and gas corporate advisor). The function of the study was to measure most important performance-indicators of the actors of industry; to denominate the most important factors and trends, which have effects on the total performance of the industry. The competent study analyses the performance of the different corporations according to regions, thus it gives a whole picture about the capital investment, performance and achievements of the oil- and gas industry corporations regarding to the analysed companies.

In the study 224 oil-and gas industry corporations were analysed and MOL got the first place in Europe in terms of efficiency (regarding one barrel’s equivalent value) and the 17th place worldwide, which means a significant improvement comparing to last year’s 38th position.
