The Central European energy giant MOL Group is expanding on Slovenian market

The Central European energy giant MOL Group officially opens the fully rebranded MOL fuel station in Dramlje in Slovenia. The first to fill up its tank in Dramlje was the tractor with the greatest reservoir in Slovenia. With its presence the tractor symbolically stated that at MOL petrol stations the biggest and greatest fill up their fuel who expect quality and efficiency from a fuel. During this occasion the tanks of the vehicles of the voluntary fire department ©entjur pri Celju and of the ambulance car from ©marje pri Jeląah were filled up as well.

At the opening of MOL filling station the first fill-up was assisted by the Hungarian ambassador in Slovenia Dr. István Szent-Iványi, László Piry, Senior Vice President of Retail of MOL Group, Valerija Glavač CEO of MOL Slovenia, and representative of Municipality ©entjur Joľef Artnak.

Dr. István Szent-Iványi said: „This is a great moment to celebrate the Hungarian flagship company’s expansion in Slovenia. I truly believe that MOL Group will pave the way for the further investments in the country. I believe there is significant growth potential in the economic relations of our nations.”

László Piry at the opening emphasized: “The refurbishment of the filling stations marks a new era for MOL Group in Slovenia. With great fuel products and services we will strengthen our position and this step could also be the basis for further potential expansion in this beautiful country. The Slovenian customers can now enjoy the benefits of MOL Group’s fuel stations network of more than 1600 spots spreading from the Adriatic to the Black Sea.”

Valerija Glavač added: “MOL Group may not be the biggest, but it intends to be the greatest fuel company in Slovenia by providing top quality fuel, imported from MOL Group’s refineries which are among the best refineries in Europe. Our customers can still join the benefits of the TUS Klub Card and at the same time we have already introduced our own international loyalty programs.”

MOL Group’s intention is to spend close to EUR 10m in 2012 for further expansion in Slovenia with the aim to achieve at least 10% retail fuel market share.

MOL Group is present on the Slovenian market since 1996 focusing on the wholesale and retail trade of petroleum products. In 1998 MOL Slovenia opened its first network of filling stations and this year it continued with the purchase of Tuą Oil filling stations, the third biggest chain of filling stations in Slovenia, which was concluded in September this year.

At the moment MOL Group operates 37 retail stations throughout Slovenia (7,2% market share). Six fuel stations have been rebranded so far, while the rebranding of the whole network is expected to be finalised by the end of the year.
