MOL Talent Support Programme, Arts and Sciences

The MOL Talent Support Program helps the professional development of talented young artists and scientists. Often the family backgrounds (school or family) of talented young people who achieve outstanding results in national and international competitions cannot provide the right conditions or equipment needed for further development, e.g. musical instruments or painting and drawing materials.

In 2011 applications were requested once more from Hungarian elementary and secondary school pupils - groups or societies of pupils - between the ages of 10 and 18 who had already achieved outstanding performance in any branch of the arts or in exhibitions in national or international competitions, but needing financial support for further development.

Applications could cover purchase of equipment, materials, instruments or event travel expenses. Final decision was taken by the Board of the New Europe Foundation. The key decision criteria were results achieved to-date and degree of need.

In 2011 the Foundation provided support funds to a total 74 young people and groups for a total of 15 million HUF.

People supported included among others 11-year-old harpist-composer Isis Gáll, 17-year-old wildlife photographer Anna Vadász and the National Team for the 8th International Junior Science Olympiad.
