MOL Talent Support Programme, Sports

The Sports category of the Programme aims to support the professional development of talented young sportsmen. Often financial resources for better training conditions, equipment, special clothing, event registration and travel, all important to the further development of young Hungarian sports people, cannot be found in their individual social environments even though they have proved themselves successful in national and international sports contests.

In 2012 we publish the call for proposal for the 6th time.

We invite young sportsmen aged between 10 and 18 to nominate if they had achieved good results in national or international competitions but found themselves in need of financial aid for their advancement. Nominees could hand in proposals for buying sporting goods or support in travel costs.

The sports jury judging the proposals is compose of Ferenc Dénes sport economist, Dr. Máté Petrekanits doctor and Tamás Szabó director of National Sport Institution.  The final decision will be taken by the board of trustees.

In 2011 the board of trustees have decided to support 125 sportsmen with a sum of 25 millions of HUF. The winners included well-known talented young people such as Zsófia Földházi pentathlete, youth world and European champion on several occasions, Boglárka Kapás swimmer, twice youth olympics champion, and Richárd Rapport chess player, international grandmaster.

The MOL Talent Support Classic Programme continues to support former applicants who are now over 18 years of age but who are still pursuing successful sports careers. In this category we follow the sport career of Márton Fucsovics tennisplayer, Henri Kovács horserider and Zsófia Tóth triatlonist.
