Men’s Water Polo Team

The men’s water polo team received eight Olympic Games gold medal between 1936 and 2004, so it is natural that great attention is paid to the performance of our national men’s water polo team, and not by chance only, because the team of "tough guys" proved their skills again at the Beijing Olympic Games in 2008.

The national men’s water polo team, coached by Dénes Kemény, left for China in its capacity as championship title defender. Taking a chance had never caused any problem for the "tough guys," because they successfully managed to defend their first place on the podium, which they had achieved in Sydney, and also in the Olympic Games in Athens.

MOL sponsored the national men’s water polo team in the year of the Olympic Games because, as a company cherishing national values, it believed that it was important to help the life of a community whose success demonstrates the essence and driving force behind cooperation and mutual work.

It was not a secret at all that the amount of sponsorship depended on the final results: the better the results the team, led by team captain Tibor Benedek, could obtain, the more they could put in their pockets: and MOL was happy to give the highest amount to the national team coached by Dénes Kemény for getting their third Olympic Games gold medal.
