Collection of used oil

Sustainable development (SD) is now a global issue, and it is one of the greatest challenges in the 21st century. It is far more than certain ethical or marketing considerations, as it has overwhelming effects onto all activities we perform on individual, corporate and international levels alike. The concept requires to manage each of the three pillars of sustainable development (environmental, economic and social) simultaneously and with equal treatment in order that future generations may have the same opportunities and chances as we have at present. We are fully committed to reduce the load onto the environment and this includes the collection of dangerous waste materials (used oil, outdated medicines, car battery and cell battery).

When we change oil in the motor, the produced waste should be professionally destroyed. Used motor oil is dangerous to the health and environment. One litre used oil might turn one million litre sweet water to waste water. To avoid this, appropriate actions should be taken ensuring professional re-cycling of motor oil, but most õpoeple are not aware how to destroy motor oil in a safe and responsible manner.

Pouring used motor oil into a household dustbin or waste container, kitchen water outlet, drainage system or river, or simply onto the ground is not only polluting the environment but it is in several countries also against the law. The best and simplest thing private persons can do is to hand over used oil as dangerous waste at filling stations.

In Hungary you can find 230 MOL filling stations where you can drop used oil as a by-product of motor oil change. If you wish to know the list of these filling stations, please click onto the following link: link
