Let's do something about our environment: let's recycle selectively!

Efforts to protect and improve our natural environment are becoming more and more important, particularly those by homeowners. One of them deals with the selective collection of domestic waste and its transport to recycling banks. So far, measures to achieve this effectively could only be taken in the home without the conditions necessary for more sophisticated methods.

Now MOL will act as a partner in solving this issue. Selective recycling bins will be placed at the shops of 25 MOL filling stations in December. Up until now, only a few of our filling stations had selective waste containers organised by local public waste disposal services. By expanding this scheme, one of our major goals is to strengthen the environmental awareness of our customers and to make it easy for them to dispose of the waste coming from products, purchased in our filling station shops selectively. That’s why we are concentrating on the types of waste that are most frequently collected at our shops: paper, plastic (PET bottles) and metal boxes.

There is a widespread misconception that waste collected selectively is later mixed together during transportation, so there is no point in selective recycling. But that is not true! Different types of waste are transported separately, then re-sorted and finally forwarded to utilisation factories. After transformation processes, recycled products are generated and so people’s efforts are not in vain at all!

With a little effort, we may achieve a lot to protect our environment!
